Khazanah Nasional Berhad, incorporated in 1993, is a state owned investment organization that manages funds of the national wealth Fund for the government of Malaysia. The sole shareholder is the Ministry of Finance of Malaysia. Khazanah about RM91 billion in asset value (RAV) in management in 2009. By the end of 2017, this figure rose to RM157 billion. Khazanah Nasional Berhad is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors with members from the public and private sectors. The Board oversees the senior management group, consisting of more than 20 professionals in the field of investment. The purpose of Khazanah is to stimulate economic growth in Malaysia and to make strategic investments on behalf of the Government of Malaysia. Part of the overall mission Khazanah is to help “transform companies, government-linked (Glcs) to the formation of a highly efficient and commercially-oriented organizations.” Fund 100+ investments in many business sectors, aviation, financial services and Telecom leading the way. The portfolio is geographically focused on firms operating in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. From the point of view of Rava, Malaysian companies amounted to more than 55% of the total wealth of the value of the Fund as at December 2017 and Singaporean companies about 12%.
The performance of Khazanah on
Khazanah leadership of the national welfare Fund 10% compound annual growth rate (cagr) from late 2009 to 2017 as provided for published organizations.
