What the ‘Economist intelligence unit – EIU’
The economist intelligence unit (EIU) is an organization that provides forecasting and Advisory services for entrepreneurs, financiers and officials. The Union provides country, industry and risk analysis on the basis of the work, research, and insights of a worldwide network of economic, political and business experts. In addition, EIU has a system of country specialists that provide country-specific insight and analysis.

The economist intelligence unit is an independent research and analysis of businesses within the London group “the Economist”, a media company that publishes the Economist. It provides services since 1946. Free access to certain reports and other information provided on the EIU website; other reports and data available for purchase or paid subscription.
The MUI offers its clients detailed analyses and forecasts for 187 countries. These clients can access certain data for free or purchase individual articles or to complement country-specific plans that provide access to a selection of economic and business information for specific national markets. The service covers the economic and political Outlook, credit risk, business environment and market opportunities, regulatory environment and financing conditions.

One of directions of work of the Union is advising tailored to the specific needs of its customers, business analysts. Services on offer include: the place of benchmarking, to assist clients to weigh the political, cultural, geological, and other factors for different countries. “We have helped companies rank cities according to their attractiveness for rolling industry, comparison of incentives in special economic zones for high-tech industry and the priority markets in Central America for companies providing financial services,” according to EIU.
Other consultation events on the political and socio-demographic forecasting country-specific. “If you need to understand how political trends will affect the rules for the industry in Chile, as disposable income changes over a 30-35-year-old women in Poland, or when the boundaries of the market in Africa South of the Sahara will become mainstream, we can help.”
The MUI also data modelling and scenario analysis, helping clients plot sales data and forecasting of business performance, as well as the country and city forecasting: “if you want to know how quickly the US will grow over the next five years or what residential construction will take place in Saudi Arabia, we can help” for advice. “Or in Thailand, Algeria or Kazakhstan.
